Furnishing a hotel while it stays open
Phasing, prototype rooms and night installations on a forty two key refurbishment.
Joseph Mnyika, 20 February 2026
Closing a hotel for a refurbishment is the clean solution and almost never the commercial one. Everything below assumes the property keeps trading.
Sign off a prototype room
One room, fully installed, signed by the operator before volume manufacture starts. It resolves arguments about scale and fabric that drawings never will.
Phase by floor, not by trade
Floor by floor phasing keeps disruption contained and lets the property sell around the works.
